As a global brand and worldwide leader in the field of consumer electronics and home entertainment, amongst others, Sony requires perhaps little introduction. For many years, Sony has had its roots firmly based in the world of audio, manufacturing hi-fi products like the classic TA-1120 amplifier and ST-5000 tuner as far back as the sixties, and introducing the first two-box CD player, the CDP-552/DAS-702 in the early eighties.
Sony’s
philosophy for hi-fi has always centred around the belief that more than
any other area of this industry, music enjoyment is widely acknowledged
to be highly subjective according to the local market. In recognition
of this, an ongoing project, known as the 'Brooklands Sound Project',
has been dedicated to designing and modifying key hi-fi separates products,
specifically for the UK consumer. This philosophy has enabled Sony to
develop into a key hi-fi and A/V manufacturer in the UK, which is perhaps
best illustrated by the numerous awards and five stars, best buy, and
highly recommended reviews that Sony has received over the years.
Our hi-fi separates range is designed to address the varying needs of today’s consumers, by offering a three-tier product structure, comprising entry level, mid-range (QS) and top of the range (ES) equipment. Within these tiers, a wide range of hi-fi and A/V separates product categories are covered, supported by an extensive range of DVD-Video, hi-fi systems and display products.
Sony has always prided itself on being a provider of quality, and above
all an innovator. For the future, Super Audio Compact Disc format, co-developed
by Sony, will stand as a significant development in the world of audio,
and offer new levels of fidelity for music enjoyment in the home.
